What I've done so far with it:
- I changed the main link to Google's and the main image for it to Google's Mobile page. It works fastest for quick searches especially with the 770's low memory. I want full HTML results, I can just click "Home" which goes to my personalized Google page. To do this:
- Go to google.com and save the main image. On mine you can see one of the Holiday images displayed.
- From your home menu, tap Web Shortcut Details...
- Enter the following into the Web Address field: http://www.google.com/xhtml
- Tap "browse" and select the image you downloaded.
- I subscribed to news feeds that would interest me more. If you're new to RSS, you can find a list of feeds here.
- I converted some video clips for display on my 770.
- This tool here is perfect.
- It doesn't seem to keep the timing straight when converting Quicktime. Typical.
- When using the higher resolution, it seems to run 2 megs per minute. While it won't be super-sexy video quality, it can get hours on a 1 gig RS-MMC. Now to FIND an RS-MMC.
I can get 3.3 volts from my iPod nano by following this guide on hackaday. However I don't know if that will be enough to tell the Nokia 770 that there is a USB device there and to go into host mode. Judging by post 17 here, it appears the USB chip may be powered by the 5V from the USB line so it may not turn on with only 3.3. I'd be afraid to try it without knowing more about the chips.

I'd say give it a try and if that thing screws up take it back to compUSA and get a new one since they screwed you on the waranty plan. You know what I got a 1 year agreement too. I'll have to go back and read the fine prints...Damn I should never buy it from them.
