More New Internet Tablet Details/Picture

A user named "yakko," in the thread discussing my previous post on this device on InternetTabletTalk Forums, apparently has contact with a leak within Nokia. Still no word if this is a "Nokia 870" or "Nokia 880" or "Nokia 780." He didn't say who he is, why, or how, but the picture above backs up his comments.

From his comments we can infer:
  • TWO miniSD slots (One below the battery compartment for semi-permanent install, one on the underside of the device)
  • A retractable camera
  • Button changes
  • A triangular stylus
  • A built-on stand
A direct quote:
I want to know the maximum capacity of the two MiniSD slots. And as much as I like the shape of the new stylus (cool triangle shape) it still is a little too short.

I may actually use the retractable camera. The built on stand is nice. The redesigned buttons on top I have no opion on yet. It will depend on how they work with FBReader. The cursor button is a million times better for me.

One of the physical changes that is real nice it how it is thicker at top and thinner at the bottom.

Whats the longer thing sticking out on the right side? Left is the camera AFAIK, but whats the other one?

" Whats the longer thing sticking out on the right side?"

Stylus silly.

All the details are starting to fall into place now. I'm liking this more every day. 2007 is going to be very nice indeed.

what is this square in the lower left corner of the screen? It is in the original pictures from a few weeks ago and in this. Its small but it take some some useful screen space. If there is a blank in the display for some other device, camera or what not that would be a deal breaker for me. I'd stick with the original.

The "square" is a tab for a pull-off screen cling

/me adds chris louden to Darwin Award pool (j/k) :p

I have never seen a protector that has a tab like that. Mine are all just clear. I usually buy the trim to fit ones though.

nice!! more 'top secret' photos please!!
as a current 770 user, the one thing i'd REALLY like to see is a transflectve screen for use outside. i'd give up my hp 4700 ppc and never look back if that were implemented!

Same with me. The current screen is suboptimal in direct sunlight. I don´t care about the other announced features, but a transflective screen and/or more resolution would be a reason to upgrade.

It's ugly compared to the 770. I wouldnt want to use it in public.

And: What about the slide-on cover? Given the shape of this device, I can't imagine there is one.

chris, it's a TEMPORARY protector.

So presumably both shots thus far don't show the device's thickness because it is so very thin that the leakers want to save that surprise for last? we can hope...

Hmm. Doesn't seem like there is going to be a slide out QWERTY keyboard... It would have been nice to have one...
