Bluetooth PAN on the N800 updates - Marked as WONTFIX

As a follow-up to my recent troubles: The Maemo bugzilla article on Bluetooth PAN has been updated significantly.
So. There is PAN functionality in the device but not officially supported and
therefore no GUI for end users. Having it officially supported would imply a
lot of paperwork and there are no current plans to go through this.

Oportunity for community contribution? Come up with a page describing the
feature and the intent and I will add it to the
http://maemo.org/intro/roadmap.html with the "(Community)" tag.

Just for the record, there is this page in the community documentation wiki:
http://maemo.org/community/wiki/HOWTO-BluetoothNetworking
There is argument on the bug page about the importance and some mention on how Bugzilla was misused to raise awareness of the bug. I will take some responsibility for bringing a lot of attention to it and ask others to please read what the flags on Bugzilla mean before setting priority levels, etc.

When it comes down to it, this is a feature request and not a bug. Later today when I have more time, I will add to this InternetTabletTalk thread with a proposal to others what requested "page describing the feature and intent" can be and modify it based on feedback, then submit it back to the maemo team. Hopefully either they will add it directly or a kind developer will make a package to enable it.

One thing I can suggest right away: The N800 is all about carrier agnostic connectivity. It was built so users are not locked into any single provider or method of connection, hence the lack of a cell radio. Therefore, it is in the best interests of Nokia to make it as accessible as possible to users of ALL phones and carriers.
