Since so many people (like me) own iPods and are forced into iTunes, Nokia decided to dig in to this market and now offers a
Media Transfer Beta. This software lets you take your (DRM-free, meaning ripped CDs and unprotected) music, video, podcasts, and pictures between an Nseries phone and a Mac.
On one hand, I'm very excited to see this line of development. On the other, we'll notice a certain omission on the following list of supported devices:
- Nokia N70
- Nokia N70 Music Edition
- Nokia N71
- Nokia N72
- Nokia N73
- Nokia N73 Music Edition
- Nokia N75
- Nokia N76
- Nokia N77
- Nokia N80
- Nokia N90
- Nokia N91
- Nokia N92
- Nokia N93
- Nokia N93i
- Nokia N95
The presence of the N95 is certainly natural. The lack of the N800 is understandable since it runs a wholly different OS, but I hope there is some conversation between the N800 team and the Media Transfer team - especially since the N800 can have dual 4GB cards. If that becomes a reality, I'll ditch my iPod.

I still don't get it; what is it for? Why don't you simply copy the files to/from the 770/N800 the way I do? (Yes, I did read the info at Nokia's website.)
yeah, why not?
"clumsy"?
Amarok does this and make it look like using a iPod...not clumsy, not at all...
(by the way, the TRON game is ready...want to test it?)
By the way, the Nokia N800 supports dual 8GB SDHC cards, pushing the maximum storage up to 16GB.
