I am aware of the RSS problem

I contacted ferenc (who manages the RSS feed, if I remember properly) and sent him this conversation I had with Ulisses. Thank you all for bringing it to my attention.

Here's the conversation that outlines the problem:

Ulisses: sorry to bother you, but it seems your feed has a problem and it's flooding planet.maemo.org..
me: When I visit http://maemo.org/news/planet-maemo/ I do not see this. Are you subscribed to their latest RSS at http://maemo.org/news/planet-maemo/rss.xml or to their old feed?
Ulisses: hmm.. I'm subscribed to planet.maemo.org/rss20.xml..
me: I will make a post to encourage users to switch.
Ulisses: ok, I'll try that..
thanks
Ulisses: a friend of mine is subscribed to that other feed and is having the same problem. [slant]
me: How are you reading the feeds? Google? Some other reader?
Ulisses: google reader
and he's also using it.. hmm..
me: OK I resubscribed using the latest feed and see a duplicate of my "Blogging - Serious Business" post as well.
Ulisses: yeah, that's the problem we see..
me: The direct feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/TabletblogcomByThoughtfix does not show duplicates. It must be how it is aggregated
Ulisses: it must be it, then
me: I will contact Ferenc and ask him
Ulisses: ok, thank

You should also check out a problem with the way Outlook 2007 sees it. Every post is listed as posted on Sun 12/31/2006 11:00 PM. Consequently none of the posts can be sorted by date and it is therefore VERY inconvenient to see the most recent content... maybe this is also why posts are being duplicated?

Is that while subscribed in a reader or while subscribed through Planet Maemo?

FWIW, I'm not seeing any problems in the LiveJournal feed.

Subscribed in Outlook 2007 as the reader.

I'm having a problem with google reader.. I'm using http://maemo.org/news/planet-maemo/rss.xml as suggested but it still happens :(

Please, fix it or get your feed off the planet maemo. It's hugely annoying and I wouldn't like unsubscribe from the planet just because of that.

I added the planet-maemo feed to Outlook 2007, and those are dated correctly. I haven't checked yet, but I suspect there will be something obvious with the date/time stamp.

Planet-Maemo is using an ATOM feed and the publication date/time stamp is definately different... in other news, I see the duplicate postings in the planet-maemo feed that everyone else is seeing too.

Just a hunch, but I suspect that each comment may be causing Planet-Maemo's feed to cause duplicate entries.
