Nokia N810 GPS - More coming

I promised a Nokia N810 GPS review today but had something come up that required my attention. Even so, I suggest people take a look at the Navicore review as Wayfinder is very much the same software except with certain features added or changed.

Jonathan Greene posted a huge article with many of his thoughts, including GPS stuff.

Here are some pictures to keep you going.

The car mount there is a vent mount from ProClip USA with the N810's included mount screwed directly into it. Even the holes line up.

I have a query regarding this GPS software and the maps. I live in Europe but with increasing weakness of American dollar it may be cheaper to buy via the Internet from US. To this end, how does the GPS functionality affect me. Are the maps supplied only for the US on the American sold version or does it contain world maps?

If I bought the cheap N800 and upgraded to the new OS, how would the GPS functionality be provided? Will it behave the same and how will European maps be affected?

R-A-M makes a generic mount that works will on the N770. That and a DC power cord make a good video player, WiFi finder, etc... Here is a photo of the mount:
