Internet Tablet Audio Quality

Ever since my N800 vs. iPod touch article, people have been asking me about the audio quality on the Internet Tablets. I am not qualified to answer this question, so I asked the great community at InternetTabletTalk for the answer.

What followed: Three pages of conversation on the topic. Thank you, itT members! You don't let me down.

The verdict: Most users think it's sufficient, but those who go out of their way for high quality headphones can still tell the difference between the Internet Tablet and a dedicated audio player.

Oi I just read through that thread, a LOT of perception coloring things in it.

Email me if you want me to help you out sometime with a bit of quantifiable research on the matter. I can run the n800 and a 3G nano and a 1 or 2 G nano, never really bothered to check as I only got them free with other purchases due to my work. Running them through some audio analysis software should give you much more dependable results in as far as what is going on.

Unfortunately the nano does not support FLAC by default, but I believe both support uncompressed wavs so I can test with that, and even on my workstation assuming I can ressurect it long enough to test.

Having watched a number of your videos, and checked out your site in regards to the marvelous Nokia N810, I've got to ask you what is probably such a simperingly simple question, you'll want to smack yourself in the forehead, and I couldn't blame ya for it...but, I think if anyone wouldknow for certain the answer to this--you would! :)

Here it is: I've read and heard conflitcing reports as to whether the N810 can, does, or will, have STEREO capability when using a Bluetooth set of headphones(not a headset necessarily)at all?!? Some say yes...some say no...some say yes--but needs a fix/hack/upgrade, etc.!!

Sooo...which is it--or any of them at all?!? It's stumped me

Hope you don't mind such a basic question. I sure need info!

THANKS !!
