N810 price drop creeps back up $50

Remember that $90 N810 price drop I reported on yesterday? Click the image on it to see a price of $389 US. Now click the image above. Apparently, the overall price dropped that low either as a mistake or only as a special for the day. The current MSRP is US $439.

I wish it would have stayed at $389 or at least $399. The $439 price tag makes it compete with budget laptops as a mobile device. To undercut all but the absolute lowest end budget laptops would be a good move. I know this device is not INTENDED to compete with laptops, but some readers/comment posters say "Why spend that much when I can get a full laptop for that price?" To them, I say "Try stuffing a laptop in your back pocket or mounting it to your dashboard, then see how much extra you have to pay for 4-6 hours of battery life and 7 days of standby."

This update came from Gadgetell through JKOnTheRun. Thanks guys.
