No community apps pre-installed in the N900. We (Nokia & community) are not there yet, and a launch so close to sales start didn't help in this sense (it was useful for other reasons though).
We (community & Nokia) are working hard to have a good maemo.org Extras QA process in place so the Extras apps could be already visible to end users when they open the Application Manager for the first time. Maemo Select is also ready to promote great community apps at http://maemo.nokia.com
Maybe in Harmattan? There is the will, let's see how it goes.

JKK, what's stopping him from turning around and reposting the questions and answers to his blog after he's received them then?

The community applications will be available through the Application Manager, is there really a need to pre-install them?
